Setting Up Your Dog For Success
What to expect when training with me
Teamwork
Owner; handler; trainer; dog mom; dog dad; whatever you call yourself, I will help you work together with your dog to accomplish the goals you set for them.
Reasonable Expectations
Most people ask too much of their dogs without realizing it. I will first assess where your dog is at before brainstorming with you to create a plan to move forward.
Improved Communication
Dogs do not come pre-programmed with English, but you can still learn to read what they’re saying. I assess body language throughout any interaction I have with a dog, and I will teach you how to do the same.
Clear Criteria
If we don’t know exactly what we are asking our dogs for, how will they know? I will help you improve the cues your dog already knows and show you how they can pick up new cues faster by setting criteria.
Conditioning vs Training
Dogs who struggle with reactivity or behavior problems are genuinely not trying to make your life harder. They act out because they are struggling themselves. I will work with you to identify the root of the problem and help them through it.
